Bangladesh made a fighting comeback on the third day of the second Test match vs Pakistan. On a day when the visiting side was struggling to fight back, there was a light-hearted moment on the field.

The incident took place when Abrar Ahmed bowled a ball and Mehidy Hasan Miraz played the ball back. Mohammad Rizwan tried to field the ball from behind the stumps and in the end gave the Bangladeshi batter a tight hug as there were smiles all around.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Litton Das fought back after their side were reduced to 26/6 at one stage. The pair added over 100 runs to bring the visiting side back into the game as Khurram Shahzad dismantled the opposition batting unit.

Bangladesh stages remarkable fightback

After resuming the day on 10 for no loss Bangladesh were in trouble before the lunch. Six wickets were lost in the first half of the play as Khurram Shahzad picked 4 wickets and Mir Hamza picked 2 wickets.

Khurram Shahzad removed both the openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam. This was followed by the wicket of the Bangladeshi skipper as well former skipper Shakib Al Hasan.

Mir Hamza, on the other hand, had the wickets of Mominul Haque for 1 last game centurion Mushfiqur Rahim for 3. Bangladesh were still behind by a massive margin of 248 as the home team bowlers fancied their chances.

From this stage, it was the Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz show. The pair began cautiously before unfurling their range of strokes. While Litton Das was circumspect to begin with it was Mehidy Hasan who was the aggressive of the duo.

The youngster had also picked a fifer in the first innings to bowl out Pakistan for 274. It is to be noted that the opening day of the game was entirely washed out due to rain. Bangladesh are leading the series after their ten-wicket win in the first Test last Sunday.

Pakistan have to win the test to keep the series alive and avoid their first-ever series loss at home to Bangladesh. At the time of writing, Bangladesh were 188 for 6 with Litton Das batting on 80 and Mehidy Hasan on 77.
