Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan was under pressure when he came out to bat. His side had lost the wicket of Imam-ul-Haq thanks to Axar Patel’s rocket arm throw. Rizwan got off the mark with a forceful sweep shot off Kuldeep Yadav that sped for four. After that, runs were coming at a slow pace as the Indian bowlers managed to keep things tight.

With the game settled in India’s favour, Rizwan tried to break the rhythm when he had a brief altercation with pacer Harshit Rana. The incident happened when Rizwan was trying to take a single and when completing the run put out his elbow. Harshit Rana was left surprised after the elbow nudge from Pakistan’s skipper.

Batting first, Pakistan opened with Babar Azam and Imam and the pair added 42 runs for the first wicket. The former Pakistan skipper hit five sweetly timed fours in his knock before he was sent back to the hut by Hardik Pandya. Just as Babar was heading back to the hut, Hardik gave him a send-off.

Kuldeep Yadav was brought into the attack early by Rohit Sharma and the move paid off. Indian spinner created pressure to make sure that Imam charged down the wicket looking for a quick run and was run out for ten. At one stage the Men in Green were scoring less than four runs per over as India’s bowlers dried up the runs.

Saud Shakeel and Rizwan slowly began rebuilding the innings as the pair went past the 100-run stand. Just as the partnership was starting to blossom, Rizwan was bowled by Axar Patel for 46 off 77 balls with three hits to the fence.

Hardik Pandya then got his second wicket when he saw Saud Shakeel flick the ball straight into Axar’s hands. Shakeel was out after scoring 62 runs with five boundaries in his 76 balls knock. Tayyab Tahir then saw his stumps rattled by Ravindra Jadeja as he played for the turn and was out for four runs.
