Mitchell Van Buuren stole the show with a spectacular catch that he made look very simple. The incident occurred on the second ball of the 14th over, with Dayyen Galiem bowling to Will Smeed. The bowler delivered a slower ball to Smeed, who made room and tried to hoick the ball over the mid-wicket region.

29-year-old Mitchell Van Buuren was fielding at the boundary and kept his composure while taking the catch. Sensing the momentum was taking him over the boundary, Van Buuren threw the ball back into play and completed the catch. Fans were overjoyed to see the way the fielder made it look easy to dismiss a well-set batter.

Pretoria Capitals’ batters post huge score on the board

Rilee Rossouw won the toss and chose to bat first and saw opener Will Jacks fall early for just nine runs. The England star was dismissed by Eshan Malinga in the first ball of the third over. Rahmanullah Gurbaz then added 76 runs for the second wicket in 47 balls with Will Smeed to heap pressure on Paarl bowlers.

Gurbaz used his feet well and scored boundaries at will before he was out for 42 runs. The young batter scored his runs off just 29 balls as he was bowled by Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the final ball of the 10th over. Will Smeed and Kyle Verreynne kept the scoreboard ticking with 39 runs in 20 balls.

Smeed was out after having made 54 runs from 34 balls with five boundaries and three sixes. Kyle Verreynne scored an enterprising 45 off 23 balls with two hits to the fence and four huge sixes. New Zealand star James Neesham then scored a quick 28 off 13 balls to help the hosts reach a massive score of 212 for the loss of five wickets from their 20 overs.
