Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star pacer Mitchell Starc dismantled Sunrisers Hyderabad' (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma's stumps in the first over of the Indian Premier League (IPL) finals. The batter was in utter shock after facing the brilliant delivery from the legendary bowler. The ball was in perfect line and length and hit the stumps, sending Sharma back to the pavilion.
The left-handed batter had no time to react to the ball, and it literally seemed like he misread the ball, costing the team a most crucial wicket. However, SRH's tragedy didn't end there.
In the 2nd over of the game, Travis Head got dismissed on a golden duck by Vaibhav Arora. Another good ball by the bowler resulted in SRH's best batter's wicket. It was a good-length ball and seaming across the left-hander, which the batter failed to understand and, hence, gave away his wicket quite easily.
'I want to crack with the bat first' - Skipper Pat Cummins' decision at toss backfires
Skipper Pat Cummins seemed quite confident on winning the toss and batting first. However, his decision seemed to have backfired as SRH lost three early wickets, two of which were their best batters. Now, the entire batting responsibility falls on the middle order, who haven't proven to be good in the tournament. Hence, this is a critical situation for the SRH team.
"There was no dew on the other night's game, we have a style which doesn't work always, but when it does, it's very damaging. I want to crack with the bat first. We have done well defending scores," said Pat Cummins at the toss.
