Shubman Gill (Source: X)
Mitchell Starc struck again as he removed Shubman Gill from the second Test match in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. Gill was playing confidently, hitting boundaries all around the ground when a late banana swing came towards him. The delivery started from the fourth stump or even off, came back in late, and Gill had no chance to play it.
He tried to get forward to drive the ball but ended up leaving a bat and pad gap, and the ball knocked back the middle stump. It was an unplayable delivery from Mitchell Starc that wasn't expected at that moment. He is a very dangerous bowler and can get important breakthroughs for the team.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal was playing well, too, when Scott Boland took his wicket. India lost wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma under 20 runs as has been the case on most occasions lately, leaving India in huge trouble. They were trailing by 152 runs when the second innings started. However, at the end of the day, India are trailing by just 29 runs.
Poor batting show by team India in 2nd Test match
KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal started the game on a great note, scoring boundaries. But Rahul was dismissed on seven runs by Pat Cummins. After that, the wickets kept on falling at regular intervals. The batters didn't take responsibility at any given point, which was the main reason behind India's collapse.
At the end of day two, India are trailing by 29 runs with five wickets in hand. The game seems to slipping away from India's hands as only three batters are left in the game. After Nitish Reddy and Rishabh Pant, it is Ravichandran Ashwin who can manage the batting department for a while. Pant and Reddy will have to bat for almost a session tomorrow to get to the desired target.
