Michael Bracwell was involved in a hilarious moment during the second innings. The incident happened in the second ball of the 17th over which was bowled by Romario Shepherd. The West Indian seamer saw Bracewell go for a wild slog across the line the Unicorns fielders begin to celebrate.
The veteran Kiwi player didn’t realize he was bowled and was trying to go for the DRS. Realization then dawned on Bracewell that he was bowled and had a wry smile on his face just as he was walking off the park. Shepherd had dismissed Quinton de Kock in the previous ball to give the advantage to his team.
Earlier in the day it was Pooran who won the toss and chose to bowl first as the Unicorns amassed 246 runs on the board. Matthew Short yet again was the star with the bat scoring 91 off just 43 balls while Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 64 off just 27 balls with one boundary and seven huge sixes.
MI New York stumble to yet another loss
Needing 247 runs to win the game, Quinton de Kock and Monank Patel began well as the duo added 119 runs for the first wicket inside ten overs. Patel was out after scoring 60 off 33 balls while de Kock was out after scoring 70 off just 46 balls. None of the other MINY batters were able to put up a fight as Kieron Pollard waged lone battle scoring 34 off 16 balls to see MINY lose yet another encounter.
Speaking after the game Pooran said “ If we chased that down, it would be a great chase. The opening partnership gave us a chance but credit to them, they bowled well in the middle phase. (On their poor form) We’ve had some tough games, it is challenging when the other teams are also playing nicely”
