The Hundred Men's Competition has seen an unusual dismissal of the batter Usama Mir, who got hit-wicket on the last ball of the first innings against the Southern Brave. Playing for Manchester Originals, Mir was trying to hit the bowler since it was the last ball of the innings. However, he went back into the crease too much, and his bat hit the stumps before the ball reached him.
These kinds of dismissals are pretty unusual in cricket and players were shocked to see this wicket. However, it didn't matter much because it was the last ball, as the first innings ended.
It was an incredible win for the Souther Brave as they chased down a target of 117 runs in 78 balls. Openers gave a good start to the innings, and then the middle-order batters carried forward the momentum. Now, the Brave have moved up the points table with two wins in three games.
Home games here are massive: Craig Overton
Craig Overton of Southern Brave bowled well in the first innings, picking up two wickets. He conceded just 11 runs, including 12 dot balls, which is pretty awesome. He talked about how the home game feels and how they are looking forward to enjoying the upcoming matches.
"Great win, we enjoy playing here, good to get points on the board. It was a little bit two-paced, trying to make it hard for the batters. Home games here are massive, we need to make sure we win them and also do well on the road," said Craig Overton during a post-match presentation.
