Krunal Pandya began the day by getting the wicket of Will Jacks for 22 runs just when the English batter was starting to look dangerous. With MI needing 19 from the last over, Krunal was entrusted with the ball. In the very first ball, the left-arm spinner got the wicket of Mitchell Santner caught by Tim David for eight runs.

In the next ball, Pandya bowled a short ball that Deepak Chahar tried to hit out of the ground. Phil Salt and Tim David showed brilliant presence of mind to pull off a splendid catch. Boult, came out to bat and faced the hattrick ball which was a wide delivery. Naman Dhir then got the strike with MI needing 17 off three balls and the batter hit a four to make it 13 needed of two balls.

Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya’s knock goes in vain

In the penultimate ball of the 20th over, Dhir tried to scoop the ball to the fine-leg region. Yash Dayal settled under the ball and took a neat catch to give Krunal his fourth wicket. Once the final ball was delivered the former MI star was seen celebrating with the rest of his teammates. This was RCB’s first win in Mumbai after six attempts and takes them to the third spot in the table while Mumbai are pushed down to eighth spot.

At 99 for four at the end of 12 overs, it seemed like MI were down for the count. Tilak Varma who was retired out in the last game played a terrific knock to score 56 off just 29 balls with four boundaries and four sixes. Skipper Hardik Pandya came out all guns blazing as he hit two sixes each off Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya to get the home fans going.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar used all his experience to get the wicket of Varma in the fourth ball of the 18th over. Josh Hazlewood then got the wicket of Hardik in the first ball of the 19th over to deal a huge blow for MI. Hardik was out after scoring 42 off just 15 balls with three boundaries and four sixes.
