In the World Test Championship final, Usman Khawaja, the opener for Australia, was removed for a duck by Kagiso Rabada, a seasoned bowler from South Africa. Rabada's brilliant bowling got the wicket of Khawaja as he opened the batting alongside Marnus Labuschagne. The current WTC final has been off to a wild start for veteran Australian starter Usman Khawaja.
In the seventh over, the southpaw was out after failing to score a run in 20 deliveries. For Usman Khawaja, this was his second duck in an ICC tournament final. Khawaja has batted three times in the ICC finals, but he has only managed 13 runs at a poor average of 4.33. Cameron Green, who was batting at number three and only got four runs, was removed by Kagiso Rabada with a brilliant ball shortly after Khawaja was dismissed.

Usman Khawaja creates unwanted record in his name
Due to his duck in Australia's opening innings in the WTC final, he was added to an unwanted list that included Brendon McCullum, TM Dilshan, and Jasprit Bumrah, all of whom had two ducks in the ICC finals. It's interesting to note that Khawaja was removed for nothing by Mohammed Siraj in the previous WTC final against India, which was his other duck. In addition, his duck today is the third-longest ever recorded in an English Test match in terms of balls faced.
Kagiso Rabada also became the third pacer to dismiss the Australian openers the most in Test cricket, after Chris Woakes and Jasprit Bumrah. Currently, Australia is on 66 runs for three wickets in 22 overs. Steve Head and Travis Head have provided the stability at the crease. South Africa wants to win a major trophy for the first time since winning the ICC Knockout, which was the precursor to the Champions Trophy, in 1998. While Australians have won several white-ball titles, including the 2023 WTC final victory over India.
