England cricket star Jos Buttler sent a stern reminder to Rajasthan Royals fans and team management. The 34-year-old was released by the 2008 IPL winners and eventually picked up by Gujarat Titans during the Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions. England’s white-ball skipper put in a all-round performance to help Deccan Gladiators win the Abu Dhabi T10 title.

Faf du Plessis was batting on 34 when Richard Gleeson bowled a slower ball to the former South African star. The 40-year-old went for a big hit only for Jos Buttler to make good ground and take an amazing catch. Du Plessis was the key batter for his side in the final game of the tournament that was played on Monday.

Nicholas Pooran won the toss for Deccan Gladiators and put Morrisville Samp Army into bat. Morrisville could score just 104 runs on the board from their ten overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Skipper Andries Gous scored 21 off 9 balls, while Karim Janat scored 16 off 6 balls. Richard Gleeson’s 2/16 from 2 overs was the best bowler for Deccan Gladiators while rest of the bowlers picked a wicket each.

Needing 105 runs to win, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and skipper Nicolas Pooran added 51 runs for the first wicket. The stand came in just 3.2 overs before Pooran was dismissed by Isuru Udana for 28. The left-handed batter hit one four and 3 sixes during his 10 ball knock.

Amir Hamza got the second wicket of Morrisville when he dismissed Rilee Rossouw for 12. Former Rajasthan Royals batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore was not out on 56 runs from 21 balls with five hits to the fence and four huge sixes. Jos Buttler hit the winning runs when he smashed Qais Ahmed for a six to help the Deccan side claim the title. The win came with 8 wickets in hand and 19 balls left to play.

Morrisville had lost to Deccan by 45 runs in the first qualifier game on Sunday. On Monday, Morrisville beat Delhi Bulls by 5 wickets to reach the finals. Unfortunately, Nicholas Pooran and his side were just too good on Monday.
