Defending Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Islamabad United continued their unbeaten start to the season on Wednesday. Islamabad beat Multan Sultans by 47 runs to solidify their spot at the top of the table. West Indian star Jason Holder picked his second four-wicket haul of the tournament in three games to help Islamabad win the game.
Needing 203 runs to win the game, Multan Sultans were bowled out for 155 in the 19th over. Holder began by dismissing dangerous-looking Kamran Ghulam for 17, caught by Colin Munro. The 33-year-old then got the wicket of David Willey for just one run, with Riley Meredith taking a neat catch. Usama Mir was wicket number three as the spinner got a thick inside edge onto his stumps and was out for one run.

The final wicket of the day for Holder was that of Mohammad Hasnain as a searing yorker uprooted the off-stump. The West Indian ended his day with figures of 4/25 from his four overs and has now claimed nine wickets in three games to race to the top of the leading wicket takers list.
For Multan, the best batter was skipper Mohammad Rizwan with his innings of 38 runs that came off 27 balls. Usman Khan played a quickfire knock of 31 off 20 balls with three fours and two sixes. Iftikhar Ahmed then tried to stage a comeback with his knock of 32 but Islamabad bowlers held their own and the team came out on top to win the game.
Sahibzada Farhan continues good run of form
Earlier, put into bat first, Islamabad United got off to a great start with the bat. David Willey dismissed Andries Gous early for nine runs. Sahibzada Farhan and Colin Munro joined forces to keep the scoreboard ticking. Farhan scored 53 off just 35 balls, which included seven fours and two huge sixes. This put the 29-year-old at the top of the leading run scorers charts.
Ubaid Shah then got the key wicket of Colin Munro caught by David Willey in the 16th over. Munro scored 48 runs from just 25 balls with the help of four crisp boundaries and three huge sixes. Shadab and Azam Khan failed with the bat to bring Multan back into the game.
Haider Ali and Jason Holder, though, ensured Islamabad went past the 200-run mark. The pair added 49 runs for the sixth wicket in just 32 balls. Haider Ali scored 16-ball 33 with three boundaries and two sixes. Holder, on the other hand, was not out on 32 off just 14 balls in what was a man of the match performance by the West Indian veteran star.
