In the richest tournament, the prize money for the title winners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is INR 20 crores. This year, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lifted the trophy after 10 years of long wait. In between that, they did qualify for the finals in 2021 but lost to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

However, this year, under Gautam Gambhir's mentorship, KKR lifted their third trophy in IPL. While discussing the award ceremony, Starc opened up about a fun incident where Angkrish Raghuvanshi made fun of the prize money and mocked the star bowler for getting more than that in the auction.

In a video, Starch said, "The IPL Final presentation didn't start until midnight & basically killed the Vibe. Then cheques for winning team came over, it had INR 20CR price. Angkrish looked at that and said - Huh its not even what you got paid."

IPL 2025 auction to take place in December 2024: Reports

While the IPL 2024 had been super fun, the upcoming season's auction will be held in December as per reports. This time, the Board might remove the Impact sub-player rule that created a lot of havoc in the previous season. Another addition to the auction might be the change of the existing rules for the RTM card.

Reports suggested that the Board plans to have eight RTM cards for the franchises this time, which will help them keep their own players. While many teams have opposed this idea, the Board has yet to confirm the rules and regulations of the upcoming auction.
