Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan makes immediate impact with the bat on his county debut for Nottinghamshire scoring 87 against Yorkshire on Monday

Out of favor Indian wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan is currently playing County Cricket for Nottinghamshire. The 26-year-old has been signed on a short term deal where Kishan will play two games. Kishan scored an impressive 87 off just 98 balls in his debut innings for Nottingham with 12 fours and a six. The standout moment was when Kishan came down the track and hit a huge six that went into the stands.

Kishan was last seen playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL where he scored 354 runs from 14 games. The left-handed batter made a tremendous start to the season with a century on his debut for SRH before his form fizzled away. By the end of the innings, Ishan Kishan had scored one more fifty to end the campaign on a respectable note. 

Nottinghamshire batted first and scored 487 runs on the board in their first innings. Ben Slater was the top scorer with 96 runs which came off 224 balls while Haseeb Hameed scored 52 runs. Liam Patterson-White also contributed with 87 while Dillion Pennington bating at number 10 scored run-a-ball 61 with ten boundaries and two sixes. In reply, Yorkshire were placed at 154 for 3 with opener Finley Bean batting on 86. Ishan Kishan had also taken a catch of Adam Lyth off Mohammad Abbas’ bowling. 

Tilak Varma makes terrific debut for Hampshire 

Yet another Indian batter who is currently playing in the English county circuit is Tilak Varma. The left-handed batter is currently playing for Hampshire in their game against Essex at Chelmsford. Essex batted first and were bowled out for 296 thanks to Kyle Abbot’s 5/26. The best batter for Essex was Charlie Allison who scored 101 while Matt Critchley scored 71. 

In reply, Hampshire lost Ali Orr and Nick Gubbins to Sam Cook in successive balls. Varma came out to bat at number four and added 62 runs for the third wicket with Fletcha Middleton in 124 balls. Middleton was out after scoring 61 which came off 82 balls as he was dismissed by Simon Harmer. 

Tilak Varma batted well to stay not out on 98 off 234 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and three sixes. Liam Dawson was keeping the Indian batter company batting on 79 off 132 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes. Hampshire are currently trailing Esses by three runs with six wickets in the bank.
