India’s U19 side beat the United Arab Emirates by ten wickets to enter the semi-finals of the Under19 Asia Cup tournament on Wednesday. The stars for India with the bat were opening duo Vaibhav Raghuvanshi and Ayush Mhatre. India will now take on Sri Lanka during the second semi-finals on Friday.

Chasing 138 to win, India won the game with ten wickets and 33.5 overs left to play. Left-handed batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi was not out on 76 runs from 46 balls with 3 fours and 6 maximum hits. Ayush Mhatre was not out 67 off 51 balls with four boundaries and four sixes. 

In the other game, Pakistan beat Japan by 180 runs to reach the final four stages of the tournament. Pakistan batted first and scored 243 with Mohammad Riazullah’s 66 not out as the top score. Japan were all out for 63 with Muhammad Huzaifa picking 5/8 from his 6.3 overs. Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in the other semi-finals on 6th December. 

Team India coast to easy win over UAE 

It was United Arab Emirates who won the toss and chose to bat first. Yudhajit Guha dismissed Aryan Saxena for 9 on the final ball of the 5th over. Chetan Sharma then dismissed Yayin Rai for a first-ball duck in the next over. Akshat Rai and D’Souza then added 32 runs for the third wicket. 

Hardik Raj then dismissed D’Souza for 17 runs for 27 balls with 2 hits to the fence. Akshat Rai was the second-best batter for UAE with 26 runs from 52 balls. Rayan Khan was the best batter for the home team with 35 runs from 48 balls with 3 fours and a six. Ayush Mhatre got his wicket in the second ball of the 31st over. 

Fast bowler Yudhajit Guha was the best bowler for India with 3/15 from 7 overs. Chetan Sharma and Hardik Raja picked 2 wickets each. Ayush Mhatre and Kartikeya picked one wicket apiece as UAE were all out for just 137 runs in 44 overs.
