The 52-year-old has been wheelchair bound ever since he injured himself while playing a local game. Dravid and his youngest son, Anvay, had been playing for the same team where the injury took place. Dravid took over as the coach once he stepped down as the national team coach post winning the T20 World Cup last June.

The game on Wednesday will see Rajasthan Royals play a home game for the first time this season. The first few home games for the Royals are set to be played in Guwahati. The Royals began their season with a loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. KKR, on the other hand, lost their opening match of the season to Royal Challengers Bengaluru at home by seven wickets.

Young Assamese cricketer Riyan Parag had a tough start to life as captain in the IPL when he played against SRH on Sunday. Hyderabad coasted to a massive 286 on the board after Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to bowl first. Addressing the media before the game against KKR on Wednesday, Parag was looking forward to the challenge.

RR skipper said to the media, “I think everyone here is a professional. Everyone knows what to do when there is a new leader. Sanju Samson Bhai has been really helpful, and Rahul Dravid has also been a great support. So I have not really faced any trouble assembling the team or getting someone in the same line of communication,"

The youngster also went onto say, “I feel the middle order is always the backbone of any batting order. For them to step up like they did, for them to bat like they did, regardless of the end result, I think that's a big plus because we are not going to give 280 every game of the season. There are going to be 180, 140, 150 games, and that's where we'll need them the most,"
