The drama continues in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 as an Indian fan was removed from the stadium for having sandpaper with him during the match. A video went viral on social media where a fan, donning the Indian jersey, was seen holding the sandpaper in his hand when the security guards were taking him out of the stadium.

The incident received mixed reactions from fans as some were cheering for him while others were showing discontentment. The fan was trying to mock the Australians regarding the 'sandpaper' incident which happened in 2018. Three players, Steven Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft, were banned for ball-tampering with the use of sandpaper.

The 2018 ball-tampering scandal was exposed, and the ICC banned the three players. While Smith and Warner were banned for 12 months, Bancroft was banned for nine months. The investigation has proved that Smith and Warner instructed Bancroft to use the sandpaper to make the ball shine. Hence, they faced a punishment that no one expected. After staying away from cricket for a long time, the players made a solid comeback.

The things will definitely get heated from the next Test match again: Harbhajan Singh

As the third Test match between Australia and India is about to start on December 14, former India player Harbhajan Singh feels that the row between Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj would get 'heated'. Meanwhile, ICC fined Siraj and sanctioned Head for his verbal abuses. Thanks to this, the series will get even more interesting. As of now, the series is draw, 1-1 with three more games to go.

"What I feel personally is, the things will definitely get heated from the next Test match again, but whatever incident happened here, should be left here in Adelaide," said Harbhajan Singh.
