The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is getting ready for the third Test match in Brisbane, which starts on Saturday. The series is currently tied at 1-1 with India winning the Perth Test by 295 runs and Australia winning in Adelaide by 10 wickets. Gabba was washed with bright sunshine as Indian team members assembled for a fun fielding drill.

Fielding coach T. Dilip was heard spelling out the rules of the contest. Each team had 18 balls to hit six targets. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and others could be seen enjoying their time out. Pant, in particular, was seen in his usual cheerful self as he was enjoying the proceedings.

The entire team looked in great spirits after the huge loss last week in Adelaide. India has to win the third Test and also go on to win the series if they have to make the WTC finals. Currently, the two-time WTC runners-up are third in the table, with South Africa on top and Australia in second spot.

Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist back Australia to win Brisbane

Former Australian cricket stars Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist were part of the SEN’s breakfast show. Matthew Hayden believes that team India will struggle with the surface they could encounter in Brisbane. “I’m aligning with Australia. India, I think will struggle with the bounce and pace of this wicket again. But I do think it’s going to be a close game. Still, I’ve got Australia to win.”

Adam Gilchrist agreed with his former teammate and said, “I do think Australia can go up 2-1. And I’m tipping a Marnus Labuschagne hundred." Last time the two sides played in Gabba, India went on to win the game and also seal the series. Rishabh Pant scored 89 not out to help his side claim a close win.

Marnus Labuschagne, who plays for Queensland on the domestic circuit, scored 108 runs in the 1st innings of the game in 2021. As per reports, Rohit Sharma is set to open the batting once again, and KL Rahul is likely to bat at the number 6 slot. For the home team, there is great news as Josh Hazlewood is back into the playing XI. Pat Cummins announced the squad on Friday, which witnessed Scott Boland lose his place.
