Rajasthan Royals posted a short video where the noted singer can be seen being presented with Warne’s legendary number 23 jersey. Sheeran was delighted and could be heard saying, “I love it, oh wow... Shane on the back. Right then, let's play some cricket." The English singer was told to ‘Swing it hard’ as he was given a chance to bat.

Deshpande was seen watching the developments closely as the wicketkeeper. Sheeran could be seen playing a perfect slog sweep that’s sailed for six. Riyan Parag could be heard saying, “He’s got a good swing. I’m pleasantly surprised." The video ended with Sheeran holding the Rajasthan Royals jersey and Parag holding football side Ipswich Town’s jersey.

Rahul Dravid set to link up with yet another former teammate

Meanwhile, former India spinner Sairaj Bahutule is set to join the Rajasthan Royals as their spin bowling coach ahead of IPL 2025. Rahul Dravid, who was appointed the coach of the side, has been overseeing a lot of backroom changes in the last few months. This is a huge move from the 2008 title winners, who are seeking to win their second title.

During his chat with CRICBUZZ, Bahutule said, “The discussions are ongoing, and I’m close to finalising my involvement with the franchise. There are still a few details to be worked out, but I’m excited to be realigning with the Royals.”

The former India player also said, “I’m also thrilled to be reuniting with Rahul. He was the one who introduced me to the Indian team during the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in 2023 when I served as the spin-bowling coach. I was also part of his coaching staff in Sri Lanka, so I’m looking forward to our reunion.”
