Riyan Parag was given the ball early by Rohit Sharma but he couldn’t do much in his first spell. The 22-year-old then was asked to bowl the 36th over of the Sri Lankan innings as Avishka Fernando was going great guns.

The Sri Lankan opener pulled a short ball by Riyan Parag for a four to move to 96. The very next ball the hopes of a million Sri Lankan fans was broken when Riyan Parag dismissed Fernando for 96.

Riyan Parag bowled the ball straight which Fernando missed and was hit on the pads. The umpire was quick to raise his finger as he sent Fernando back to the hut. The batter didn’t take the review as he went back to the hut out four runs short of his ton.

Ahead of the third and final ODI versus India, Sri Lankan skipper Charith Asalanka had challenged the batters to score a century on the wicket. Avishka Fernando had scored 96 runs which came off 102 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Riyan Parag struck for a second time in two overs when he got the key wicket of Charith Asalanka for 10. The Sri Lankan skipper had just hit Parag for a huge six before the youngster got his revenge a few balls later.

The Sri Lankan skipper missed the line of the ball as the Indian team went up in huge appeal. The umpire didn’t waste anytime in lifting his finger and Asalanka decided to review the call. The third umpire saw the ball hitting the stumps

Mohammed Siraj gave India yet another breakthrough as he bowled a searing Yorker to Sadeera Samarawickrama. It was seen that Samarawickrama hadn’t made any contact with the ball and the decision was given in favor of the Indian bowler.
