New Zealand won the 2nd T20I game against Sri Lanka by a small margin of just five runs. Glenn Philips was amazing in the last game, helping the Kiwis clinch victory with his bowling skills. New Zealand had just five runs to defend in the last over when captain Mitchell Santner handed the ball to Philips. He went on to pick up three wickets in four balls and gave away just two runs.

It was an unexpected win for New Zealand as they had just scored 108 runs in the first innings after Sri Lanka forced them to bat first. The batters couldn't do much in front of Sri Lanka's bowling attack. Will Young was the game's highest scorer, scoring 30 runs in 32 balls. Wanindu Hasanranga sent almost half of the team back to the pavilion with his master-class bowling.

Pathum Nissanka scored a brilliant half-century, giving Sri Lanka the much-needed start. Apart from him, the entire team collapsed. Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Philips claimed three wickets each and helped New Zealand level the series, 1-1. The last game will be a decider.

It was a full team effort: Lockie Ferguson

Lockie Ferguson has been brilliant with the ball lately and in the 2nd T20I game against Sri Lanka, he claimed three wickets, proving his worth. He gave full credit to the team for their collective efforts. However, Glenn Philips was just amazing in the last over which helped them turn the tables towards them.

"It was a full team effort. Pretty scrappy, I am not sure where that fits in all-time defending totals, but certainly the lowest I have defended as a group. Nice to be out there. Unfortunate to come off with only two overs bowled. GP bowled a lovely death over there to get us over the line, he can probably bowl there from now," said Lockie Ferguson.
