Ahead of the mega auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, fans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, urged KL Rahul to join the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). That was not it; they demanded that he join the team as their next captain. During the 1st Test match between India and New Zealand, Rahul was fielding near the boundary line when the fans asked him to join the team.

It was a sweet gesture from the fans, who wanted him to return to RCB. He is from Bengaluru, and the people love him. Rahul is a classic player who has played some brilliant knocks in the IPL and for the Indian team as well. Hence, this was the way of showing love from the fans.

Rahul's performance in the 1st Test match wasn't good, as he didn't even cross the 20-run mark in both innings. He was heavily criticized by the fans on the internet for low scores for quite a long time. He hasn't played a match-winning knock for India, which has also impacted the team a few times.

I will still play KL Rahul: Parthiv Patel

Former India player Parthiv Patel has come in favour of KL Rahul and said that he will still be going with him to the upcoming test match in Pune. Rahul is undoubtedly a brilliant batter who has multiple shots under his belt. Parthiv believes in Rahul's strength and wants him to play in the next and score some runs to shut the critics. The next match against New Zealand is extremely important for India from the WTC finals perspective.

Parthiv Patel said “I will still play KL Rahul, the way the team has shown faith in him. I am thinking like that based on how the team’s thinking has been. If you wanted, you could have made Rahul bat at No. 3 in this Test match but you said that you didn’t want to change his position.”
