After winning six matches on a trot, RCB somehow managed to qualify for the playoffs. They defeated the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 17 runs, which paved the way for their qualification. However, they couldn't continue to keep up the fighting spirit and the winning momentum and hence, lost the eliminator.
'To come back like that, six games in a row...' - Skipper Faf du Plessis showers praises to teammates
Skipper Faf du Plessis showed a lot of praise to his teammates for showing a lot of character throughout the entire tournament. The team's performance was commendable as RCB went from losing six matches out of seven to winning six back-to-back matches. However, one bad game cost them the entire tournament.
"Extremely proud. A lot of teams - their wheels would've fallen off after 1 from 9. To come back like that, six games in a row, takes a lot of heart and character. We weren't special tonight in terms of pushing that extra 20 runs with the bat," said Faf du Plessis at the post-match presentation.
