The start of the 2nd game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 was dramatic as Mitchell Starc sent the star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, back into the pavilion on a golden duck. On the very first ball of the game, Starc's pitched-up delivery, angling in from over the wicket and swinging away late, hit the pads as Jaiswal missed playing the flick. Jaiswal spoke to KL Rahul regarding a review but didn't go ahead with it, since it was quite clear that the ball was hitting the stumps.

It was a disappointing dismissal for the 22-year-old player as he was in great form. The same thing happened to him in the first match as well, where he was dismissed on a duck. With a lot of frustration and anger, Jaiswal went back to the pavilion.

Shubman Gill took revenge on Jaiswal's wicket by hitting two back-to-back boundaries against Mitchell Starc in the same over. India's score went up to eight runs at a loss of one wicket in the first over with Rahul and Gill on the crease.

Ravichandran Ashwin comes in for Washington Sundar

Ravichandran Ashwin makes his way into the team ahead of Washington Sundar as per a recent development. Captain Rohit Sharma revealed the changes in the team for the 2nd game at the Adelaide Oval. Sundar was brilliant in the previous game, but the experience that Ashwin brings in is invaluable. Also, his record in Adelaide is quite impressive, which is why he became the ultimate choice of the management.

Ashwin can contribute runs with the bat as well which is an added advantage for the Indian team. The batting line-up looks sorted with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill back in the game. If the players manage to stick around without playing unnecessary shots, India will be ahead of Australia.
