Former Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne was dismissed for just 14 runs during his final innings in Galle. The 36-year-old was brilliantly caught by Alex Carey off Matthew Kuhnemann. Australian bowler tossed the ball outside off stump as Karunaratne went for a drive and Carey completed the catch.
Once the umpire gave the batter out, Karunaratne was quick to review the call. The TV umpire saw there was a spike on the bat and the batter had to head back to the hut. Nathan Lyon was the first man to reach the departing batter and gave Karunaratne a pat on the back.

Dinesh Chandimal joined the fray as he hugged his former skipper as he was taking his final walk back to the pavilion. Karunaratne had scored 36 runs in the first innings to take his match total to 50 runs. It was an emotional end to a great career from a batter who had been one of the biggest pillars for Sri Lanka in the longest format.
Australian spinners run riot in second innings
Sri Lanka came out to bat in their second innings trailing the tourists by massive margin of 157 runs. Pathum Nissanka was the first batter to be dismissed as he was bowled by Matthew Kuhnemann for eight runs. After the fall of Karunaratne in the 13th over, Dinesh Chandimal perished for 12 runs.
Nathan Lyon had Chandimal caught by Beau Webster to leave the hosts at 39/3. Angelo Mathews and Kamindu Mendis then added 42 runs for the fourth wicket. That stand was broken when Lyon had Mendis caught by Usman Khawaja for 14 runs.
Earlier in the day, Prabath Jayasuriya picked yet another fifer as he helped the hosts bundle out Australia for 414 runs. Steve Smith was out for 131 runs while Alex Carey registered his best Test score of 156. Jayasuriya ended with 5/151 from 38 overs while Nishan Peiris took three wickets and Ramesh Mendis picked two wickets.
