On the back of Dewald Brevis’ knock, following Ayush Mhatre’s 19-ball 30 runs, CSK managed to post 154 runs in 19.5 overs, losing all their wickets. Besides these two, Deepak Hooda also contributed with 22 runs off 21 balls, one four and a six.
Star SRH pacer Harshal Patel bowled a sensational spell in the first innings, scalping 4 wickets at just 28 runs in his four overs, alongside 2 wickets each picked by skipper Pat Cummins and veteran pacer Jaydev Unadkat. Mohammed Shami and Kamindu Mendis also bagged a wicket each for their side in the first innings.
Notably, CSK are struggling in the tenth spot on the tournament’s points table, with only two wins and six defeats in their eight games so far. They have only four points to their name in the table. The five-time champions are coming off a big 9-wicket defeat in the last game against the Mumbai Indians following a win against LSG. Before that, they faced five consecutive defeats in the five games after a 4-wicket win in their campaign opener. A win in this game against SRH will help CSK keep their hopes alive with the ‘string of a thread’.
