Ahead of the upcoming home Test series against New Zealand, skipper Rohit Sharma was spotted practicing at Jio Park, Mumbai. The first Test match will start on October 16 in Bengaluru. The entire team will arrive at the venue after the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh. However, the skipper has already started his preparation for the series, understanding its seriousness.

A video went viral on Instagram where Rohit was seen running and working out to keep himself fit. He did the same before the Bangladesh series, and it gave him good results. Thus, he's doing the same thing again and will hope for the same results. Rohit, who often gets trolled for his fitness, left no stone unturned as he displayed some tremendous fielding efforts during the Bangladesh Test series.

The New Zealand series is extremely important for India because if they manage to whitewash the series, India will unofficially qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Finals. After this, they will have to draw one match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, and then they will officially qualify. Since the New Zealand series is in India, the challenges will be less severe than those in Australia. Keeping everything in mind, India will have to put their everything into the 3-match Test series against New Zealand.

India to play the 2nd T20I vs Bangladesh on October 9

The Suryakumar Yadav-led India team is set to take on the Bangladesh team on October 9 in Delhi. After winning the first game by seven wickets, India's confidence will be at its peak. The first match was a one-sided affair as the Men in Blue won the match quite comfortably with 7 wickets in hand. Arshdeep Singh was named Player of the Match for his terrific bowling display as he claimed 3 wickets. However, it was Hardik Pandya who stole the limelight by showcasing some classy shots with his bat.

Bangladesh will try to win this match to level the series, or else, just like the Test series, they will lose the T20I series as well, which will be extremely embarrassing for the team. Their performance against Pakistan was top-notch, but their momentum was spoiled against India, which resulted in a series defeat.
