Pakistan found themselves in an early spot of bother during the opening day of the Multan Test against West Indies on Friday. The start of the game was delayed due to foggy conditions and once it began it was Shan Masood who won the toss and decided to bat first. Former skipper Babar Azam saw his return to Test cricket at home which ended after scoring just eight runs.
The 30-year-old left the fans fuming after wasting a review despite getting a clear nick off his blade. The incident occurred in the third ball of the 14th over with Jayden Seales bowling to Babar Azam as the bowler delivered the perfect ball that seamed away from the batter.

Babar got a nick off his bat and there was a huge appeal from West Indian players. Umpire Rod Tucker had no hesitation in giving the verdict in favor of the bowler. That’s when Babar turned to his partner and opted to use the DRS. When the replays came up on the screen there was a clear deflection off the bat. The 30-year-old was out for just eight runs after facing 20 balls.
Jayden Seales triple strike hurts Pakistan
Cricket fans had to wait for a long time before action finally commenced at Multan in the first of two Test matches. Muhammad Hurraira made his debut for the home team while Trevor Imlach was given his maiden Test cap for the visitors.
Jayden Seales set the ball rolling when he dismissed debutant Hurraira for six runs caught behind by Imlach. Spin bowler Gudakesh Motie then got the big wicket of skipper Shan Masood for 11 caught behind by the debutant wicketkeeper.
Kamran Ghulam played a glorious shot off Seales to score his first boundary of the game. In the very next ball, Ghulam decided to shoulder arms to a ball which came in sharply and the umpire didn’t hesitate in sending the batter back to the hut. When Babar Azam was out the score was reading 46/4 and the home team were in a huge spot of bother.
