Left-handed batter Jawadullah went for a huge down the ground and the ball looked set to clear the ropes. Badoni made good ground and dived full length to take the catch. It was a tremendous effort and show of athletic skills by the young Indian star who is seeing his stocks rise.

Tilak Varma and his side have now won both their games so far in the tournament. India began their campaign with a massive win over Pakistan by 7 wickets. Meanwhile, Pakistan beat Oman by 74 runs in their 2nd encounter on Monday.

The final round of matches will be played on Wednesday with India taking on Oman and Pakistan taking on UAE. The winners from the UAE versus Pakistan encounter will make it to the semi-finals while Oman is already out. India will want to win their game against Oman to seal the top spot ahead of their semi-final encounter.

India romps home to easy win over UAE

It was UAE who won the toss and chose to bat first as India went in with the same team. India bowled out UAE for just 107 runs in the 17th over as Ramandeep Singh picked up the final two wickets. Barring Nishant Sindhu and Rahul Chahar each of the bowlers picked a wicket for the side.

Earlier in the day the men in blue saw Vaibhav Arora, Anshul Kamboj, and Rasikh Salam dent the UAE top order. Rahul Chopra’s run-a-ball fifty ensured UAE finished well as he was the last man out. For India Rasikh Dar was the best bowler with 3/15 from 2 overs.

Chasing 108 to win, India lost Prabhsimran Singh early for 8 runs off 6 balls. Abhishek Sharma then scored a brisk 58 off 24 balls with 5 fours and 4 huge sixes in his knock. Skipper Tilak Varma scored 21 while Ayush Badoni was not out on 12 to guide India to an easy win.
