Punjab Kings (PKBS) bowlers put Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batters under pressure in the 13th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. LSG had come into the game on the back of their huge win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. One of the key architects of the win was Mitchell Marsh, who had scored 52 runs off 29 balls in the last encounter.
The 33-year-old was out for a golden duck against PBKS on Tuesday thanks to Arshdeep Singh’s short ball. India’s left-arm pacer bent his back and bowled a short ball that saw Marsh trying to play down the wrong line. The Australian batter could only get a thick edge as Marco Jansen settled under the ball and took a neat catch.
It was a huge moment in the game for the visitors, as Marsh has already scored two fifties in the first two matches. Shreyas Iyer’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss seemed to have paid off as Arshdeep conceded just three runs from his first over of the game.

Rishabh Pant continues his lackluster form with the bat
PBKS bowler Lockie Ferguson bowled the second over of the game and gave away just four runs. The third over of the game finally saw some action as Aiden Markram opened up and scored 13 runs off Arshdeep’s second over. The South African batter hit three fours to leave the home fans going crazy in the stands.
Markram would have been out in the third over if only Arshdeep had held onto a sharp return catch. Ferguson was hit for a four and six in successive balls by Markram to continue the amazing start to the innings. Ferguson, though, had the last laugh when an inside edge of Markram’s bat saw the LSG opener dismissed for 28 runs.
Rishabh Pant, playing in his first home game of the season, was welcomed to the crease by a huge roar. The 27-year-old failed to deliver with the bat as he pulled the ball straight into Yuzvendra Chahal’s hands off Glenn Maxwell. Pant was out after scoring just two runs to leave the home fans disappointed.
