Virat Kohli retires from Test cricket

On May 12, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket. After a glorious career in red-ball cricket, Kohli has bid adieu to the format, leaving behind tons of memories for the fans to cherish forever. The right-hand batter was just 770 runs away from scoring 10,000 Test runs. In 123 matches, Kohli had scored 9230 runs at an average of 46.86. He was one of the best batters in the history of the game, and the Indian team would miss his services in the future.

Before Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket on May 7 through his Instagram story. These two stalwarts have made the selectors' job tough as they now have to look for a captain, an opener, and a middle-order batter for the upcoming 5-match Test series against England, starting on June 21.
