The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 has seen a lot of brilliant catches, but this backward blinder from Alick Athanaze is beyond everything. His catch helped his teammate Rahkeem Cornwall get a fifer in the game. Thanks to Cornwall's terrific bowling in the first innings, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots batting order collapsed, scoring just 110 runs in 20 overs.

To dismiss Ryan John, Athanaze ran toward the deep mid-wicket only to realize he had misjudged it initially. He somehow managed to keep himself calm and jumped backwards to take the stunner before tumbling down. His solid efforts helped the team to get the wicket and helped Cornwall claim a 5-wicket haul in CPL 2024.

Along with Cornwall, Naveen-ul-Haq claimed three wickets and Obed McCoy took two wickets. When the Barbados Royals came in to bat in the 2nd innings, opener Quinton de Kock (59) and Kadeem Alleyne (25) were in a destructive mood as they smashed 57 runs in the powerplays.

They chased down the target of 111 runs in just 11.2 overs, which was fantastic. With this win, the Royals are on the top of the points table with five wins in six games. Their NRR is +1.470, and they are doing wonders in the tournament.

I just backed myself and put the ball in the right areas: Rahkeem Cornwall

Cornwall has become the hero for his team after taking a brilliant fifer against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. He is an incredible all-rounder who knows his game quite well, which helped him dismantle the batting order of the Patriots. While talking about his performance, he said that he just backed himself up and his teammates helped him too. It was a proper team game and hence, the results were fruitful.

"Yeah it was a good performance. I just backed myself and put the ball in the right areas. Nothing like that, I enjoyed all the wickets, you don't get five wickets everyday. I backed myself, and the team backed me as well," said Rahkeem Cornwall during the post-match presentation.
