Team India got off to the worst possible start during the 2nd T20I game against Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Opening batters, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma fell early to give the visitors the much-needed boost after losing the opening game on Sunday.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib came into the team for Bangladesh instead of Shoriful Islam. The right-arm pacer made an immediate impact with the ball. The Bangladeshi pacer saw Sharma hit him for two crisply timed shots to the boundary. On the last ball of the 3rd over Tanzim had his revenge.

India’s opening batter went for a swipe across the line but was beaten by the pace on the ball. The ball crashed into the off-stump and went cartwheeling as Abhishek Sharma was out for 15 runs. His knock came off 11 balls with 3 hits to the fence. Sanju Samson was the first man out as he gave a simple catch to Shanto to give Bangladesh their 1st wicket. The 29-year-old scored 10 runs from 7 balls with 2 hits to the fence.

India goes into the game unchanged

It was Bangladeshi skipper Najmul Shanto who won the toss and opted to bowl first. Suryakumar Yadav said that even he was looking to bat first as India went in unchanged. Local lad Mayank Yadav is playing in front of his home fans while the other local hero Harshit Rana is yet to get his debut cap.

Speaking at the toss, Najmul Shanto said, “I'll like to bowl first. Looks a good wicket, I think dew might come in the second innings. If you look at all the international matches and IPL, looks a pretty good wicket, big score in all the matches.”

When asked if winning their last encounter at the same venue gives him confidence, Shanto said, “It gives us a lot of confidence, but today is a new day, we have to play to our strength and give our best. Top of the order, as a batting group, we need to focus on the first first six overs. Shoriful isn't playing, Tanzim Sakib plays.”

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav said, “We were looking to bat first as well. We did bowl in the first game. I spoke to a few groundsmen and they said there was a little bit of dew. We wanted to challenge our bowlers to bowl with the wet ball and see what we can do. The amount of talent in the dressing room, it's very difficult to express that. I am just happy sitting back, relaxing now, watching them play and my job has become very easy. You have to be one step ahead when you're playing this format. Pitch Looks very good, let's see how it goes.”
