Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers has shared an extremely special moment with the Mumbai Wheelchair Cricket Team in a practice session at Islam Gymkhana near Marine Lines. The former Proteas batter not only interacted with the players but also sat in a wheelchair alongside them to play. The moment was filled with energy, laughter, and respect for the wheelchair players in Mumbai. The fans were ecstatic after witnessing such a moment for the wheelchair players.
Meanwhile, the 41-year-old was in Mumbai as a part of Project Mumbai, where he spent an entire day volunteering in the city to ignite a spirit of civic engagement. The star player has talked about his experience as Project Mumbai Brand Champion.
"Mumbai has given me so much love over the years. Today, I wanted to give back not as a cricketer, but as a volunteer. There’s something truly powerful about working with others to make spaces better for children, for families, and for this incredible city," said de Villiers.

Meanwhile, the RCB has stormed into the IPL 2025 after defeating the Punjab Kings. The former RCB batter seems confident of his side winning their maiden title this year. Notably, RCB has qualified for the fourth final this time and its first since 2016. RCB has lost to David Warner-led SRH in the IPL 2016 finals.
"I am very happy that RCB is in the final. Mumbai Indians won last night, and it is going to be a very good qualifier 2...I am very much looking forward to the finals and hopefully this will be the year for RCB," Villiers said.
