Virat Kohli reaches Perth way before other players ahead of BGT 2024

Former India captain Virat Kohli reached Perth, Australia, ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. He has been to Australia before his teammates, who will arrive in batches. Moreover, Kohli's wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma accompanied Kohli on the tour along with their two kids, Vamika and Akaay. 

The BGT series will be interesting, and with the support from his family, we might get a chance to see the old version of Virat Kohli. Kohli loves to play red-ball cricket in Australia and has a staggering record in the Kangaroo nation. He has scored 1352 runs in 25 innings at a brilliant average of 54.02.

"Virat Kohli left before the two batches and has already reached Perth. One batch of players is already on their way, and the second batch leaves today," a source said, as quoted by TOI.

Australia will be looking forward to hosting the Indians in their country because of the rivalry. In the last few years, India have dominated the Aussies in their own home ground, which is the reason why they are pumped up for the upcoming series. India's disappointing loss against New Zealand might have an effect on the upcoming series. 

He should think about Australian cricket: Gautam Gambhir

India's head coach Gautam Gambhir, made his appearance in a press conference ahead of the BGT series 2024. During the conference, Gambhir gave a cheeky reply to Ricky Ponting's statements related to Virat Kohli on his centuries in the last five years. Gambhir said, "What does Ponting have to do with Indian cricket? He should think about Australian cricket." 

While both the players were going through a lean patch, Gambhir stood by them and defended them. He also mentioned that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have done enough for the country and don't have to prove anything to anyone. Kohli will be looking forward to playing in Australia in the upcoming BGT series.
