The injury scare for India ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 has come to a halt as Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were seen in good shape while batting in the intra-squad match simulation at the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA). With the overcast conditions, the players enjoyed their batting session. The first Test match out of a 5-match Test series will start on November 22, in Perth.
As the Indian team are gearing up for the match, Rohit Sharma wasn't seen during the intra-squad. KL Rahul opened the innings along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, which raised a lot of eyebrows. The Board or the player hasn't made it clear about his absence from the game and with his non-involvement in the practice session, it seems like the captain is set to miss the first Test match.
Moreover, KL Rahul, who was reportedly injured during the practice session held in the morning, was seen fine while batting in the intra-squad match which is a sign of relief. Jaiswal continued with his aggressive batting during the match while Pant was bowled twice, despite showing a good approach against the bowlers.
Kohli and Pant were the batters who were on the crease during the final interval. The former captain played for almost an hour, showing no sign of discomfort. Overall, it was a fruitful day for the Indian players as they faced quite several bouncers from Nitish Reddy and Prasidh Krishna, but were able to play them all.
First-class cricket ki wicket hai meri ek: Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah had a fun day during the net session ahead of the first Test match against Australia. BCCI shared a video on Instagram where the players were having verbal banters regarding Pant's bowling action and whether he dismissed Bumrah in the nets. It was an entertaining video for the fans as the players were arguing throughout the video.
Pant went on to say, "First-class cricket ki wicket hai meri ek", to which Bumrah replied cheekily saying, "Haan, thik hai. Usko saja ke rakho tum." The practice sessions look fulfilling on the outside as the players are gearing up to face the mighty Australians in the BGT series 2024.
