As per the WPL rules, each team can have only 18 players in the squad, which includes six overseas players. In a transfer, RCB brought Danni Wyatt-Hodge from the UP Warriorz into their team for the upcoming season. Moreover, this time the purse value is INR 15 crores for each team. The retention list was a bit shocking this time because of the release of some famous and talented players.

Let's look at the top three high-profile players released:

3. Issy Wong

Issy Wong

English cricketer, Issy Wong played for the Mumbai Indians in the previous seasons of the WPL. However, MI decided to part ways with the player who had done really well in the tournament. It was a shocking decision because of her performance. In a total of 12 games, she had taken 18 wickets and scored 76 runs at a strike rate of 146. MI might regret their decision to leave or buy her again.

2. Heather Knight

Heather Knight

Another brilliant player was Heather Knight of England who was with RCB. She is a terrific player who has done extremely well in the international set-up. In the form of Knight, the team got the most experienced player who had the intent to guide the youngsters. RCB brought her for INR 40 lakhs in the previous year's auction. This time, she will again be under the hammer, hoping to go to a solid team.

1. Sneh Rana

Sneh Rana

India's Sneh Rana was the highest bid of the previous season who was brought for INR 75 lakhs by Gujarat Giants. The Indian all-rounder's performance was quite average in the tournament, where she played 12 games and scored just 47 runs. She claimed six wickets in 11 innings, which might be the main reason behind her release.
