Roy Fredericks and Colin De Grandhomme are jointly tenth in the list of batters with the fastest Test tons. While the former West Indian opener smashed it in 71 deliveries against Australia in the 1975/76 series in Perth, the Kiwi batter scored it in as many balls against the West Indies in the 2017/18 series.

Head's former teammate, David Warner, had smashed a ton in as many deliveries, at the same venue against India in the BGT 2011/12. Shivnarine Chanderpaul and JM Gregory scored a ton in 69 and 67 deliveries against Australia and South Africa in Georgetown and Johannesburg, respectively.

Gilchrist has the fastest ton in the history of the Ashes, which he achieved in just 57 balls in Perth in 2006/07. The record of the fastest Test ton belongs to Brendon McCullum, which came in just 54 deliveries in his retirement match in 2016.
