Throwback to the time when Sir Donald Bradman scored century in just 18 minutes

Former Cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman once scored a century inside three overs and it came in just 18 minutes during a local cricket game in Australia.

Sir Donald Bradman was the best batter in the world and his average of 99.94 is still right at the top of the cricket averages. During his heyday and a legendary career which lasted two decades, Sir Donald Bradman made it a habit to pulverize the opposition bowling attacks. 

For all the records that he holds, Sir Donald Bradman holds a very unique record that is impossible to break in today’s times. The former Australian great scored a century in a mere 18 minutes during a local game that was played. 

It is to be noted that the Australians followed an 8-ball per over rule instead of the conventional 6-balls per over. Sir Donald Bradman went on a rampage as he smashed the opposition to reach his century in record time in front of a jam-packed crowd. 

Sir Donald Bradman creates unique record 

During a game that Sir Donald Bradman was playing for Blackheath against Lithgow in New South Wales, the Aussie legend hit a century in just 18 minutes. A large crowd had come to watch the game and the former legendary batter gave the crowd huge entertainment. 

The first four balls that Sir Don Bradman faced went for 18 runs with two sixes, followed by a four and then two runs. The next four balls saw two fours being hit with one six and then a single taken in the last ball to keep strike. 

By the time the second over started, Sir Donald Bradman got even more aggressive. The right-handed batter hit 40 runs from the over with 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. With this Bradman reached 73 runs in a space of 16 balls that he faced. 

The crowd started to swell in numbers as the news spread that the young Australian sensation was on the cusp of something special. The non-striker took a single off the first ball as Sir Donald Bradman hit two sixes and took a single to reach 86. 

With a single taken by his partner in the 5th ball, Sir Donald Bradman reached his century with two fours and a six. All the members on the small ground stood up and applauded the effort to signal a massive moment in his career and create a record that has stood the test of time.
