The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise had a successful Unbox Event at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, in the presence of all the players on March 17. Star batter Virat Kohli introduced Rajat Patidar as the next captain of the franchise and said that 'he's going to lead for a long time.'
"The guy who is going to come next, is a guy who will lead you guys for a long time. So give him all the love you can. He is an amazing talent. He is a great player, we all know that, but he has got a great head on his shoulders, and he will do a great job for this amazing franchise and take the team forward. He has got everything that's required," said Virat Kohli during the Unbox Event.
The crowd went crazy on Virat Kohli's entry during the event, so much so that the anchor, Danish Sait, had to ask the crowd to quieten a bit and allow the batter to speak. This shows his fan following and the love Bengaluru people have for Virat Kohli. Despite him not being the captain, the cheer was the loudest for the player.
I absolutely love being here: Virat Kohli
Kohli also spoke about the team and the quality of players they have in the team. The franchise has done well in the auction, and this time, it is getting some brilliant bowlers like Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and many more. Kohli is the only player to play for RCB for 18 years straight. This speaks volumes about the man's loyalty and his love for Bengaluru.
"It's an amazing squad this time around. We've got some really exciting players. A lot of talent in the team. So, I'm personally very excited to get going and help the team. And I try to do my best as I have for so many years. And as I said, I absolutely love being here," added Virat Kohli.
