England has received a solid backlash after losing the 1st ODI game against Australia, even after scoring 315 runs in the first innings. Former legendary batter Alastair Cook took a dig on skipper Harry Brook to be careful about the words he spoke during the post-match presentation. While talking on the BBC Test match special, Cook criticized the batting order for collapsing from 200-2 to 315 runs, which was quite embarrassing.

"Harry Brook might cringe a little bit at saying what he actually said. He gave a bad answer to a question about not minding being caught on the boundary. I understand what he is trying to say. Ultimately they have to be better at recognising the pitch they are on. They messed up from 200-2 and were not good enough with the bat," said Alastair Cook on BBC Test match special.

Australia's comeback with the ball was iconic as the batting order shattered in front of players like Azam Zampa and Marnus Laguschagne. Even Travis Head took two wickets who isn't even a bowler. The embarrassment for England came when they lost wickets to players like Head and Labuschagne who are part-time bowlers. It was these two players' day as they wreaked havoc on the English bowling attack in the second innings.

Travis Head smashed 154 runs in the 1st ODI against England

Travis Head was the Player of the Match in the 1st ODI against England as he scored 154 runs off 129 balls and took two wickets as well. It was an amazing day for Head as he contributed with the bat and the ball. He has improved his batting to the extent that he walks into the crease and starts hitting the balls. In this process, he has hit 20 boundaries and five sixes, which is unbelievable.

He was supported by Marnus Labuschagne who scored 77 runs off 61 balls. He, too, claimed three wickets in the first innings. These young guns were the reason behind England's destruction, both with the bat and the ball. England is playing without Jos Buttler, which is backfiring them as the player is suffering from an injury.
