With less than 25 days in hand for the Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan are looking in deep trouble as the stadiums aren't ready yet. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given the deadline of January 31 for the PCB to hand over the stadiums. However, the videos and photos have surfaced over the internet, which shows that some of the stadiums aren't ready yet.
Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra raised concerns about the venue of the tournament and mentioned that there are high chances of it moving away from Pakistan. In his YouTube video, he spoke about the repercussions of the stadium controversy.
"Pakistan is way behind the deadline. The videos always come about the Gaddafi Stadium. If your grounds are still not ready, if you don't hand them over to the ICC on January 31 or give them underprepared, the ICC may have to take a call at some stage whether it's right or wrong. Are we risking safety and security?" said Aakash Chopra in his YouTube video.
Real thing is whether Pakistan will get ready in time: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra didn't waste any time and asked a clear question about whether Pakistan was ready to host the tournament or not. Also, he didn't comment much on Rohit Sharma not travelling to Pakistan for the photoshoot. He concentrated more on the stadiums and the issues related to it.
"So it's going to be a big question whether Pakistan will be able to get ready. I am not going to focus on the unnecessary gossip, about whether Rohit will go or not for the photoshoot, whether India will write Pakistan on their jerseys, and all of that, but the real thing is whether Pakistan will get ready in time to host the tournament," added Aakash Chopra.
