Ramiz Raja irked with delay in Pakistan squad announcement

Talking on his YouTube channel, Ramiz Raja said “Pakistan is the only team that has yet to announce their squad for the T20 World Cup. They are still trying to read the potential. All the players are on trial. It feels like every player is on trial”

The former Pakistan skipper also said “Some bowlers look under pressure. Hasan Ali had a bad outing. Mohammad Amir’s performance was flat. What is the role of Abbas Afridi? Saim Ayub looks like a lost cause”

Pakistan barely managed to beat a below strength New Zealand and drew the series 2-2. Against the Ireland side, Pakistan had lost the first T20I before winning the next two matches to take the series 2-1. Babar Azam was given the task of captaining the side once more after Shaheen Shah Afridi was removed the post just after one series as the captain.

Ramiz Raja said “Babar’s strike rate has been outstanding, even in his innings he has played well. Even though it came against a weak bowling line-up, runs are runs. You need to announce the World Cup squad quickly because each player can be on trial”.

The series for Pakistan is against England where they play four T20 matches. This series will be the start of a hectic few weeks before Pakistan play their first game of the T20I World Cup in a few weeks.
