Invading the pitch while a match is going on has become a trend among the audience. Due to these pitch invaders, the US government has made strict rules in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. During a press conference, skipper Rohit Sharma was asked about the pitch intruders and the players' emotions at that time to which he gracefully said the rules are meant to be followed.

"I think, players' security is important, similarly, the security of the people outside is also important. We are playing cricket, yes, but for the people sitting outside, it is important for them to understand that there are rules and regulations for every country. It is very important to follow them and understand them," said Rohit Sharma.

During the India vs Bangladesh warm-up match, a pitch intruder came inside the ground during the match while the police officers rushed in. However, Sharma was seen talking to the guards about handling the man with care, which the viewers appreciated. These incidents have become regular now, where people invade the pitch and then get detained. While they don't care about the police and security, they leave happily after meeting their favourite cricketers.

'No, no, it's not a distraction' - Rohit Sharma clarifies that intrusions are no distractions

Skipper Rohit Sharma clarifies how the intrusions are not distracting but unsafe for the players and the audience. The players already have a lot on their plate including batting, bowling and scorecards and hence, they are never distracted with anything like this.

"No, no, it's not a distraction. Look, our focus is on some other things. We don't focus on who is running to the ground and what to do. I don't think that any player will be distracted by that. So, I don't think that players can be distracted by such things. So, I don't think we can distract the players," said Rohit Sharma.
