The Australian cricket team is in splits after losing the first Test match against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. As per reports and some players' statements, it looks like the players are divided in the team. Former India batter Sunil Gavaskar takes a jibe at the Australian team and their team's dynamics just after one loss.
"The panic in the Australian ranks is palpable, what with former players calling for heads to be chopped off and some even hinting at cracks in the Australian team after Josh Hazlewood’s media interview at the end of the third day’s play, where he suggested that it was up to the batters to now do something," said Sunil Gavaskar.
If this divide were true, India would be looking forward to taking full advantage of the situation and playing well in the 2nd Test match. The Pink ball Test match is at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, which is a struggle for India. Their performance wasn't great in the Pink Ball Test match earlier, which is a record they would like to change in the upcoming matches.
Yashasvi Jaiswal showed he is a quick learner: Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar spoke about Yashasvi Jaiswal and how great a batter he is. Jaiswal played really well in the 2nd innings, scoring 161 runs. This was another reason behind India's win. KL Rahul was also brilliant in both innings. Gavaskar shed light on all the batters and their performances.
"Yashasvi Jaiswal showed he is a quick learner was evident by the straightness of his bat at the start of the second innings. As he settled down with wonderful guidance from K.L. Rahul at the other end, one could see the Aussie shoulders sagging at the inevitability of another big hundred from this prodigy. Their heads drooped even more as Virat Kohli cashed in on the solid platform set by the opening pair to get another century in Australia," Gavaskar added in his column.
