Head Coach Gautam Gambhir praised Rohit Sharma for his brilliant captaincy in the past and mentioned that debates happen in the dressing room, but the captain makes the ultimate decision. Rohit has been a crucial part of the Indian team and proved his worth in recent times.

Even after getting the captaincy, he has scored tons of runs and led India toward the T20 World Cup 2024. Undoubtedly, he's been an asset to the team and the management has shown immense trust in him in the past.

"We've had several conversations. I believe that the team ultimately belongs to the captain because he leads on the field. My role, along with the support staff, is to assist the captain in every way possible. There will be disagreements, but the final decision rests with the captain. Rohit's leadership and respect in the dressing room are crucial," said Gautam Gambhir during an interaction with Sports 18 network.

Since debut in 2013, Rohit has played in 101 innings in Test cricket and scored 4138 runs at an average of 45.47. However, he got out on just six in the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh, which was disappointing. India were 34-3 when Rishabh Pant walked in and controlled the disastrous situation.

Before lunch, both Jaiswal and Pant played well, taking the score to 96 runs before Pant threw his wicket away. Now, all the set batters are out, and Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are in the crease, doing the damage control.

Hasan Mahmud claims four wickets against India in 1st Test match

Bangladesh's medium-pacer Hasan Mahmud's brilliant bowling against India in the 1st Test match has blown the internet. He came in and finished in the top order of India, which was unexpected. The batters had no idea about the deliveries he bowled and kept on returning back to the pavilion. The 24-year-old's confident attack on the batters did push India onto their back foot.

It seemed like he wasn't afraid of getting hit for boundary; rather, he was allowing the batters to play freely and make mistakes. He gave perfect balls to lure them, which became the biggest drawback for the batters as they kept chasing the outside off-stump balls. However, they still have a chance to bounce back and score some runs which will be defendable.
