"The best way to counter them is to not reply," he said. "Let them talk, and why should we reply and make it big? Don't give them anything to catch on, and let's see how much they can talk. I would have done that if I was there. It is the best way to answer the Australians," said Shardul Thakur as quoted by Sports Tak.

Two nations will be playing for their pride this time and for Australia, it will be the urge to settle the scores. The Aussies haven't won the series for a really long time and will be looking forward to laying their hands on the trophy soon. India will try to retain their trophy, making it the fifth in a decade.

Border Gavaskar Trophy is always intense: Shardul Thakur

Australia have always been hard on India in the last few outings. However, they weren't able to break the batters, nor the bowlers. Indian batters have given it back to the Aussies with the bat, by winning the series four times in a trot. This time things would be different as per Shardul Thakur. The pacer has predicted that the batters will have a tough time out there.

"Border Gavaskar Trophy is always intense. This time we will be going to Australia. It will be challenging not only for the bowlers but for the batters as well. India has great bench strength right now, and those players who came to the national side from the India A team will do well," Thakur added.
