'The Aussies prefer to attack the leadership' - Former India head coach gives heads-up to Jasprit Bumrah ahead of 1st Test match vs Australia

The first Test match between Australia and India will be a war between two pacers who are captaining their teams in a high-voltage game, starting on November 22. Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah will have a good time out there on the field, handling the team and the pressure created by the opponents during the game. Speaking about Australia's attitude, former head coach Ravi Shastri said the hosts will try to target the stand-in skipper Bumrah. 

"The Aussies prefer to attack the leadership. Whoever the captain is, they train their guns and put their spotlight on the captain. If they can bring down the confidence of the captain, they feel that the confidence of the team comes down. The pressure will be on Bumrah—there's no question about that. Any captain coming here will feel the heat, and Bumrah will be the same. But he's a very mature cricketer. He's a very competitive cricketer. Deep down, let's not forget, he's the best fast bowler in the world at the moment," Ravi Shastri was quoted as saying by India Today. 

Bumrah is all confident and looking forward to facing Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. India will look to retain the trophy and give away a dynamic performance in the upcoming two months, which will also decide their future in the WTC 2025 finals.

Captain Jasprit Bumrah is all excited about playing against Australia and taking responsibility for the team. He spoke to the media professionals during a press conference and revealed that the team is ready and looking forward to playing the first game in Perth. While the series will be challenging, the players are up for a tough job, especially Virat Kohli, who has been sweating out in the nets. 

"We are very well prepared because we came here early. We got some time to spend at WACA. A lot of youngsters are coming here for the first time. But when we came here for the first time, we got less time than this, and we ended up winning the series. We always believe and have confidence in our side," added Bumrah.
