The much-awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is starting in less than a week now and all teams are ready to play their warm-up games scheduled to start on May 27. Now that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is over, people will start shifting their attention to the upcoming marquee event which will be held between 20 nations. Since the number of teams has increased, the entertainment will be doubled.

West Indies and the US are ready to host the World Cup and will be looking forward to fans worldwide joining and making the event a success. While all the teams had released their teams, Pakistan was the last one to reveal their squad as they were busy playing a T20I series against England. Now since all the squads are released, we can rate the teams based on the players.

Here is the rating for the top ten teams based on their final squads:

10. Sri Lanka - 2/10

Sri Lanka

Led by Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lanka team has a great bowling attack but their batting attack seems to be weak. With the presence of senior players like Angelo Mathews, Dasun Shanaka, and many more, who are out of form, the batting lineup might struggle against a strong pace attack of other teams.

9. Bangladesh - 3/10

Bangladesh

With the return of Shakib-Al-Hasan into the squad, the Bangladesh team might have a balance in their squad ahead of the tournament. Shakib has all the skills and courage to play some quality cricket which might be in favour of the team. However, looking at their current form, Bangladesh will definitely want to improve their game before the marquee event starts.

8. Pakistan - 4/10

Pakistan

Pakistan was the last team to reveal their squad but that didn't make it any better. With the openers struggling in England, seems like the batting lineup might backfire them. While some bowlers are in great form which is a piece of good news for the team, skipper Babar Azam will be a bit worried about the top order before the start of the tournament.

7. Afghanistan - 4/10

Afghanistan

Afghanistan squad is led by the spin wizard Rashid Khan who is an expert in his department. Moreover, he knows how to motivate and lead his team which is in fact a great quality of a leader. The team has a mix of senior and junior players who are in great form and ready to take on any team which comes their way.

6. West Indies - 5/10

WEST INDIES

No matter what the team combinations are, the West Indies team has a reputation for giving their 100% in the T20 World Cup. Their willpower is extremely strong and they play together as a team. Led by Rovman Powell, who has had a brilliant IPL outing, the team has some great bowlers who can easily dismantle the stumps of the opponents. Hence, their performance doesn't depend upon the kind of squad they have.

5. South Africa - 6/10

SA

South Africa, led by Aiden Markram has a good team which has the potential to reach far. The bowling department is filled with amazing bowlers who hold the talent of destroying the batters. Moreover, their batting seems pretty weak considering the current form of some of their batters. The Proteas should hope to get back in form before the tournament kicks in.

4. New Zealand - 7/10

India

With the majority of players from the 2022 World Cup, New Zealand seems to be ready for the marquee event. They have a great balance in their batting and bowling department which will prove to be helpful in the upcoming matches. In the presence of players like Trent Boult and Matt Henry, the bowling attack seems sorted.

3. India - 7/10

India

The Indian squad will be led by Rohit Sharma and all the players in the squad have had a pretty good IPL campaign this season. The kind of cricket they played throughout the entire season was enough for the opponents to start preparing for the T20 World Cup. However, leaving out Rinku Singh from the squad shouldn't backfire in the team during the tournament. Other than that, the squad looks perfect.

2. England - 8/10

England

The English team is led by Jos Buttler and has players like Phil Salt, Moeen Ali, Will Jacks and many other talented players in the squad who can help the captain defend their trophy. The defending champions have a sorted team when it comes to their batting and bowling department. Moreover, the return of Jofra Archer to the squad is nothing less than a blessing for the team.

1. Australia - 9/10

Australia

Australia has the most balanced side with players like Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Mitchell Starc, and Pat Cummins. The entire squad looks stronger than all the other teams in the tournament and their aim will be to get that T20 World Cup trophy. The Australian batting and bowling has some good players who are talented and responsible at the same time.
