'Superb display of bowling, fielding, & batting' - Fans react Shubman Gill's GT outplay SRH by 7 wickets in 12th match of IPL 2024

Gujarat Titans have registered their second victory in the ongoing Indian Premier League after defeating SRH by a margin of 7 wickets at NMS, Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad took on each other in the 12th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The visiting skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first; batting first SRH batters struggled against the bowling attack of GT led by experienced Mohit Sharma.

Batting first, SRH posted a total of 162 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Abdul Samad and Abhishek Sharma scored 29 runs each off just 14 balls and 20 balls, respectively. Apart from these two, Heinrich Klaasen and Shahbaz Ahmed also played the knocks of 24 and 22 runs, respectively.

The veteran pacer Mohit Sharma scalped 3 wickets just at the cost of 25 runs in his 4 overs. Besides him, Azmatullah Omarzai and Umesh Yadav also claimed one wicket each, alongside one wicket each bagged by Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed.

Notably, none of the SRH batters successfully crossed an individual mark of 30 runs as the highest individual score was 29, scored by Abdul Samad and Abhishek Sharma.

While chasing the target, Gujarat Titans had a good start with 36 runs added by the opening pair of Wriddhiman Saha and skipper Shubman Gill in 4.1 overs. Gill scored 36 runs off 28 balls, with 2 fours and a six, alongside Saha’s 25 runs off just 13 balls, with 1 four and 2 sixes.

Miller-Sudharsan duo leads the charge for Gujarat Titans

Later at number 3, GT’s impact player Sai Sudharsan once again shone with the bat and played a crucial knock of 45 runs off 36 balls, with 4 fours and a six. He also stitched an all-important partnership of 64 runs for the third wicket with the experienced number 4 batter David Miller.

David Miller also played an unbeaten knock of 44 runs off 27 balls, with 4 fours and 2 sixes, alongside Vijay Shankar’s unbeaten 14 runs off 11 balls with 2 fours

Eventually, GT won the match by 7 wickets and registered their second win in the third match of their IPL 2024 campaign.
