Australian selectors haven’t named a captain after they announced the team to take on Pakistan in the 3-match T20I series. Names like Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood are missing from the squad. Veterans like Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, and Marcus Stoinis have been included in the team.

Mitchell Marsh isn’t part of the squad as well with the huge Border Gavaskar Trophy to start in a few weeks. The move has been deliberately made to keep the players fresh for the huge 5-match series against India. Meanwhile., Andre Borovec will be the new coach for Australia during the series against Pakistan.

According to reports, Glenn Maxwell or Josh Inglis could be named as the captain for the T20I side. There are also reports that Adam Zampa, Marcus Stoinis, or even Matthew Short could be considered for the role. But veteran all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will be the overriding favourite for the captaincy role.
